a little bit about me
Coco was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She studied ballet at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary and has played piano since the young age of seven. Coco has continued to pursue her love of dance and music in her whole life.
Coco moved to the United States in 1999 and studied Finance at Baruch College in New York City. After earning her BBA degree, she worked for a big corporation for 6 years. Coco’s energetic personality and unique style were restricted in the office. Not only that, the stress of work caused her to over-eat and gain weight. At a size 12, 185 pounds, Coco turned to exercise and fell in love with group exercise classes. Coco lost 50 pounds and slimmed down to a size 6! Since exercise was the key to her success, Coco’s goal became to help others achieve their goals through fitness. Her personal experiences made her realize that she was meant to inspire on the gym floor. In 2006, she became an AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor, making a difference and changing lives.
Music and fitness are Coco’s two passions and Zumba® combines them both! She was introduced to Zumba® in October 2008, and immediately fell in love. She became licensed in many formats of Zumba Fitness.
In June 2010, she was thrilled to be chosen as a First Generation Zumba® Jammer (Choreography Specialist). Then, in 2013, Coco was ecstatic to be selected as a Zumba Educational Specialist (ZES) for New York State.
Coco continues to enjoy teaching a variety of fitness formats including: Cardio Kickboxing, Bootcamp, Spinning, Mat Pilates, Boxing, Body Sculpting, Body Conditioning, and Zumba®.
Coco is proud to have organized and instructed several charity events such as Zumbathons for the American Cancer Society. She also introduced the Zumbatomic® program to the HAFTER Hebrew Academy, and the Long Island Hebrew Academy.
Referred to by her students as, “Coco Loco,” Coco’s love for dance and fitness is contagious. Join her class once and you will be hooked!
